  Internet Dating......has anybody tried it?

  well seeing as my social skills are severly limited or it's just really really hard to meet women i thought i'd get everybody's opinion on "netdating".

  i think it's worth a shot, i think it gives you an opportunity to meet people that you'd never meet in the real world, well it's 2 am and i'm bored, i guess i'd better hit the sack now

  My husband and I met online. We have been together 7 years since we met in person....and we were penpals. We met through Almost Online...(AOL).

  2 wonderful little boys later....and of course lots of trouble with the watchtower.

  Most of my online friends have met their husbands online..so it must be working for someone!

  I would just recommend if things don't add up...don't dismiss it. Most people can't keep things straight for long if they are trying to be dishonest...unless of course they are some mental psycho.

  i may have mentioned this incident before.

  please bear with me...but it's one of the things that really showed me the lack of love and concern.. shortly before my mom kicked me out of the house, someone that i had trusted (my foolish mistake) turned me in to the elders, saying i was "espousing apostate ideology".

  never mind that this person constantly complained about the elders and went to less meetings than i did...but anyway...their "encouragement" consisted of telling me, "the reason why you're becoming so bitter and angry is because you're not doing enough in field service.

  I am sorry that those dumb elders treated you that way.

  Apparently field service cures any problem. After I had my first son they told me that going out in field service and making all the meetings would cure breastfeeding problems and colic.

  I'm surprised that it was never an awake article...such earth shattering medical breakthroughs should have been put up as nourishment for the rest of the flock!

  So glad I'm not at the KH anymore.

  We have a black cat named Renfield (dracula's lackey), the rest of the cats are noodle nuts, sweetie, harley, swizzle and pig.

  We also have 2 dogs with rather boring names...Cleopatra and Kersey.

  would you go to a funeral at a kingdom hall?

  would it have to be someone that is very close family or just an acquaintance?.

  i dont know that jw funerals really off ther much closer and point blank i can not think of a single person i would go to the hall for.

  A friend from my parents motorcycle group just died of cancer and he went back to the KH when he got his diagnosis...but kept riding his motorcycle much to the chagrin of the elders.

  My parents went to the funeral even though they know what the JW's put me and my husband through.

  I think it was a good thing for them. They have heard me be upset for 7 years...but never really investigated the jw's or saw them in action.

  Both now know what I have been dealing with. My mom said...boy those people have no manners at all and a few more choice comments.

  Then the icing on the cake was when she told me she was sorry she ever told me to just go to the hall and be a good wife and take on my husbands beliefs.

  I can't think of anyone I liked enough to go to the hall for their funeral.....

  Did Anything Positive Come From You Being A JW?

  i know this has probably been asked before.. did anything positive come from you being a jw?.

  i personally was never a jw....but i have benefited from darling husband being one.

  from working on all those quick builds and being involved in all those cleaning businesses.

  I personally was never a JW....but I have benefited from Darling husband being one. From working on all those quick builds and being involved in all those cleaning businesses. He can do anything! Our house was definately a fixer upper and he knew how to do everything.

  I learned what I don't want in a religion and when I started researching the JW's I met some of the nicest people I have known in my life. People who have offered me support in some of my darket hours...

  Anyone want to add anything?

  toughest question anyone can ask, if the love of your life, and mate/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend messed around on you, whether it be once or for years, how would you handle it and what would you do, think about it slowly and carefully.. wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.. it's said that 50 % of marriages are affected by an affair, it's probaly alot higher.. did you notice any affairs in your congregation ???.

  i look back now, and think, oh yeah there was.

  My first husband cheated on me repeatedly. I kicked his butt to the curb when I found out. We didn't have any children so it hurt but it was easy because I didn't have to see him ever again.

  Now I'm married...we have 2 wonderful little boys. If Darling Husband cheated I would probably go into a severe crying jag. Then I'd ask the tough questions like does he love her, does he want to be with her...and go from there.

  The kids change the whole thing cause they didn't ask to be here.

  JWs required to report medical information to elders

  there was an article, i believe in the awake!, that talks about a hypothetical medical worker who in a hypothetical situation comes to find out that a jw has accepted a medical procedure that is not accepted by the wts.

  this hypothetical worker must decide where or not she will report the hypothetical violation to the elders.

  does anyone recall where i can find this article?

  I have written about this before but thought I would share it again.

  This happened when I had my first son 5 years ago....anytime my husband and I missed a meeting one of the Elders wives' who worked in the ICU would look into the computer to see if I was checked in.

  Well I ended up having a c-section and lost a lot of blood and because I also have a blood disease they wanted to give me blood.

  Well guess who showed up...without us ever calling.

  That's right, 2 of the Elders from our hall showed up.

  We never called them and told them I had the baby or what was happening.

  So how did they find out?

  This lady apparently kept tabs on everyone in the congregation for her husband. I'm so glad we moved away from that area!

  it covered his murders and his pretence of being michael finkel.

  i was so discussed when they talked about the childrens (babies, practically).

  how could anyone commit a such thing?

  I saw the author of the book...the ex NY Times or New Yorker writer on the Morning Show trying to drum up interest in his book about the whole experience. I don't know that we can believe anything he says in the book though because by his own admission he is a dishonest person for making up sources.

  The whole situation with the Longos is just disgusting. Death is too good for this guy.

  grabbing the magazines

  well i kinda started a new tradition last year.

  sometime last year i stopped off at a gas station in london kentucky and i noticed watchtower and awake magazines laying on a brochure rack, and i promptly removed them.

  well yesterday on the way up to dayton i stopped off at that station again, and sure enough there were 6 magazines there, 3 watchtowers and 3 awakes.

  When I go to my doctors office and my son's pedi I always see the ragazines....I either shove them in my purse and toss them or just toss them right into the trash there.

  The secretaries always laugh because they know my history and how I feel about the Witchtower.

  Maybe for next year's memorial we can make some paper rings and confetti and deliver it to all the halls for festive decorations for their big Memorial Party!
